Let me Gripe for a Moment

Recently I mentioned someone in my blog, giving them a good shout out, some promotion, unsolicited. This was someone whose blog I read and enjoy. I emailed her a note to tell her about my mention, giving her a link so she could check it out. Here's the gist of what I got in response:

"Thank you so much for your kind note. Believe me when I say all my emails mean so much to me. However, I am just too popular to truly read all my emails, and certainly to even respond to them, so I'm just giving you this standard reply. Thanks and come again."

Really? Then why do you list your email address in your blog? Do you like being so popular that you don't have time for anyone?

O.K., I'm done now. My next post will be all rainbows and unicorns. I promise.

Oh my goodness.....can you possibly imagine!!!??!???? And I'm sure it's an ad site too and she makes $$$ from her readers.... Oh well.....time will tell if her readership reads through the lines to know the sincerity of her posts.

Oh my gosh! I can not believe that was her auto reply! I have received a few... no where near as rude as this. Actually saying she is too popular?! Sad.

and with a response like that how long is she going to be popular?

I can only hope it was meant in irony, but it might just as well not be.

On another note, I would like to pass on an award to you. I thought it fits you really well. :-)

Sorry I didn't catch up to you during the A to Z challenge. I'm still discovering new sites. And, uh, I think I made your 100th follower!

OMG....It might have been better if she hadn't replied at all.

That is just horrendous. I can't believe someone would really think it's okay to post an auto-response like that. Amazing!

Well, that is just plain rude. I would be furious too if that's what I got. Blogging should be about building a community and staying in touch with each other, not being too popular for anyone and focusing on one's self. I hope she loses followers for that, but that's just me being caddy.
